With the registration of the 498th finalist late this afternoon, it's clear that CWSF 2011 will surpass the previous mark of 494 set last year in Peterborough - and there's still one week to go.
Fifty years ago in 1962, forty-five finalists from 12 regions gathered in Ottawa for the first ever Canada-Wide Science Fair. On May 14th we will welcome over 500 finalists for the first time in the event's history - from 100 regions in every province and territory. Together with nearly 200 adult chaperones, over 500 judges, and over 200 volunteers, nearly 1500 will take part in the 50th Anniversary event.
If you are heading to Toronto in a few weeks, we look forward to welcoming you.
